In April of 2005 the newly elected pope Benedict XVI came onto the front loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica to bless the crowds. Gathered around him on the adjoining balconies there appeared all of the cardinals who had just chosen him.
I’ve read quite a few posts today about going to confession. Some people haven’t gone in a long time, some fear it, some seek out priests other than their home priest… I pray if going to confession still makes you uncomfortable, this short video brings you some peace 🙏🏻
Today is December 12. In Mexico, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe marks the moment in 1531 when the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego, a poor Indigenous farmer, and left behind an image that should not exist.
Her face was mestiza. Her cloak carried stars arranged like the night sky of that very morning.
Her image burned itself into a cactus-fiber tilma that should have disintegrated centuries ago, yet it still hangs in Mexico City, untouched by time.
She unified Indigenous and Spanish worlds, gave dignity to the forgotten, and became the emotional backbone of a civilization.
Empires rose and fell. Revolutions came and went. Yet every December 12, millions walk through the night, barefoot, singing, praying, weeping, because Guadalupe did what power never could.
She made a people feel seen.
† Padre Pio Prayer:
“Stay with my, Lord, because I am weak, and I need your strength, so that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.
Stay with me Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness.”
Lord heal me of my affection for my sin.
Heal of my impatience at the sins of others.
Help me to be compassionate & gentle with others in the struggle and remember they are trying hard too.

Our Holy Priests Are Men, Not Machines. They Need Our Help.
What our clergy need most is support, both from each other but equally from the lay Catholics who benefit so greatly from the sacrifices of our pastors.⤵️
