Mother to child and cats, a few beef cows, and coworker with amazing people at the Anoka County Historical Society. The present is the past of the future!
Had a bad body day yesterday thanks to temp drop and rain. Dragged myself to the museum for a few hours then collapsed in a useless heap at home. What is love? Mr. D serving up the crockpot beef, mashed taters…and picking out the Lima beans from the veggie mix :)
After three months of wearing leg braces and losing 10 pounds as a result, one needs to experiment with walking to the end of the road and back “au naturel” as it were.
Yep. Still need leg braces.

Mr. D just created the title of my next book. Who would read, “There’s a mouse head on the porch (and other uncommon lessons I learned from the barn cats)”?
A little innocent scrolling on social media at the end of a vacation weekend ends in tears—my #eds specialist Dr. Brad Tinkle suffered a stroke. I cry for his family and for all the hopes I had pinned on my upcoming appointment with him.
I’m sitting with the fear I feel about a long holiday weekend with no access to my chiropractor. If my bones move out I’ll have no choice but to use the ER for pain management. Friday to Wednesday. The countdown starts now. #eds#EhlersDanlosSyndrome#instability#cci
“I’m busy” is easy to say in conversation, but I’m discovering it causes me stress to focus on the multitude of jobs on my list. Instead, I’m going to pick a “gem of the day” to use in convos. What am I thrilled about that is DONE?
My happiness comes from realizing my body is a broken, disabled contraption that I live in. My spirit is my own and I can feed it the right food so it can bouy me for the rest of our journey.
I’m tired of the rain making my body ache. I’ve eaten things to emotionally make myself feel better. Spoiler alert, I didn’t work. Just took a hot shower, probably a better option. #weatherspoons#rainpain#eds
I planned 10 delivery stops today for Mr. Darcy’s Cows. Thankfully, Mr. Darcy gently suggested I had over planned for my body. We all need someone to support us when the trap door opens and we stand on the brink of being our own worst enemy. #Boundaries#EhlersDanlosSyndrome
#momentofhonesty The pedicure I had today caused me stress. As a person with a #hiddendisability I trusted a (well-intentioned) stranger. They moved my foot too fast and pulled my hip, rubbed my foot too hard and moved bones. The chair popped a vertebrae. Ugh. #treatmelikeim80
I’ve been involved with our farm for five (?) years and tonight was the first time I saw a calf born. It was as sloppy, wet, and amazing as you’d imagine. #birth#mrdarcyscows#calves
