A few reflections heading home from the Bills game tonight as a Canadian. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🏈
There is a lot of noise in the Canada-U.S. relationship right now. Trade fights, tariffs, political rhetoric and plenty of frustration on both sides of the border.
But then you spend a night in Buffalo.
Canadians and Americans tailgating together. Singing both anthems. Cheering for the same team. Talking football, families and life. Nobody asking who won the latest political argument.
It is a good reminder that our relationship is much bigger than whoever happens to occupy political office at any particular moment.
We share communities, businesses, friendships, families, sports and a border that has connected us for generations.
Governments will disagree. We should stand up for our respective interests when they do.
But we shouldn’t lose sight of each other in the process.
Tonight felt like a reminder of that.
Break tables, not relationships. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

Antivaxxers should pay higher insurance premiums just like smokers do. The rest of us shouldn’t have to pay more because they choose conspiracy theories over modern medicine.
AOC: Oh man, Flock Cameras are terrible. These things are awful. I don’t even know how they are legal half of the time, the ways that they are going up, the way that they are doing these conferences with these sweetheart contracts with local police departments in a way that’s not vetted or transparent. I think that people don’t want a surveillance state. They don’t want that surveillance state hooked up to AI companies to be vacuuming our data and deploying to analyze the movements of every American. People deserve a right to privacy and deserve a right not to be surveilled. When we talk about what living in a free country means, I think the ability to move freely without looking over your shoulder to see if some private company is spying on you is a foundational element of that.
Pritzker: I have to worry about whether people can eat lettuce or blueberries off a grocery shelf because Trump is doing away with food inspections.
I have to track measles outbreaks because the president put a madman in charge of vaccine recommendations.
I have to monitor the movements of ICE agents because he handed guns to people who couldn’t pass a background check, frankly, to work in an animal shelter.
I have to find money that we don’t have to fight problems that didn’t exist before Donald Trump. It’s the reality of being a governor in America today. I’m not the only one.
Vaccines save lives.
Doctors know it. Scientists know it. Decades of research has proven it. And millions more children are alive and healthy as a result.
When public health guidance strays from scientific evidence, it creates confusion, erodes trust in life-saving innovations, and makes it harder for families to access the care they need.
We should never let politics stand in the way of medical care. Especially when it comes to our kids.
JUST IN: Two people have died in Michigan’s cyclospora outbreak, marking the first confirmed U.S. deaths linked to the explosive diarrhea-causing parasite.

I don't want to “download the app” to pay for parking. I don't want to “create an account” to see a menu. I don't want to “provide feedback” on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash
🚨RICK SCOTT IS AN EVIL SON OF A BITCH
Scott is attacking Fauci for fraud due to “changing medical guidance.”
It’s called SCIENCE.
Doctors were appropriately cautious about pregnant women taking the vaccine until enough evidence existed. As the data grew, so did the confidence, and recommendations changed. That’s exactly how science is supposed to work.
Republicans undermined public safety for political appoints under COVID and they are doing it again.
Absolutely evil.
Enough is enough.
Measles cases keep breaking new records and all our Health Secretary has done is pour fuel on the fire.
RFK Jr. must be fired immediately.
NEW: After RFK Jr. failed to respond to his first inquiry, Sen. Ossoff is again pressing Sec. Kennedy on cuts to cyclosporiasis monitoring.
“Your silence amidst an ongoing outbreak of diarrheal disease is indicative of the reckless arrogance with which you demolished America's public health defense,” Sen. Ossoff wrote.
Jon Ossoff lays into RFK Jr for his role in the ongoing Cyclospora outbreaks:
"He cancelled the CDC's required FoodNet monitoring of Cyclospora and he refuses to answer my inquiries."
When he’s gone and this is all over, I don’t want to hear a single journalist tell us how terrible he was after spending years normalizing every fucking awful thing he did.
Confusion can be as dangerous as contamination
With multiple potential Cyclospora outbreaks and awful messaging from the top, people deserve facts—not guesswork
We broke down what we know, what’s uncertain, what foods warrant caution, and how to protect yourself and your family
The CDC says more than 11,500 suspected cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in 41 states. I’ve called on the CDC and FDA to restore their critical food safety programs so we can detect outbreaks quickly, identify their source, and keep families safe.
The most dangerous words in public health are, “It’s not that bad.”
Minimizing outbreaks while dismantling the teams that detect and investigate them isn’t leadership—it’s negligence.
