Last time I checked, the “GO” in @GOtransit was an acronym for Government of Ontario. Ottawa is in Ontario. Is it wrong to ask why this GO bus in Waterloo today is flashing #GoLeafsGo in English & French but not #GoSensGo as well? @SensCentral@Senators
New #NHLgreen article by RinkWatch’s @rmcleman about how this past winter ODR season compared with previous winters, with great photos from #rinkwatch participants & others. https://t.co/vOPubFODVi
I’ve studied & written about #climatechange +migration for 20+ years, time to step aside. In what’s likely my final journal article on the topic, I summarize what researchers know & don’t know about climate & displacement. It’s open access. https://t.co/AYfBHW1pcV
Will you be teaching a course on #climatemigration? Pls consider adopting new book by @BestKelsea, @KaylyOber & me, ‘Migration in a changing climate’, pub’d by Cambridge. See image for description & 20% discount code.
@environmentca@IPCC_CH@environmentca If you’re so proud of this, please explain why you quietly removed funding for Canadian scientists to participate in next #IPCC assessment cycle? Cdn scientists have been told if they want to participate, they need to pay their own way.
Dr. Adrienne Johnston's ES296 Introduction to Sustainability class visited St. Agatha in Wilmot Township to learn more about the needs of the community & apply sustainable practices to real-world settings.

Two students & I reviewed every #IPCC report since 1990, identified, summarized how migration/displacement were assessed. Resulting 33p report too massive for a journal article available free, open access here here: https://t.co/NbmDMogjQa
Have been reading about crazy price of #eggs in USA. In Canada we have supply management system that ensures farms = well managed, not disrupted by bird flu, producers get fair income, consumers pay fair prices. Today’s price for 12 large eggs at my local store = C$3.93/US$2.75
Of all the academic papers I’ve participated in, this one published in latest issue of #GreatPlainsResearch may be my favourite, even if no one ever reads/cites it. “How Drought Helped #JimmyCarter (Nearly) Win South Dakota in 1976”. https://t.co/ejvQrswx87 @UNLGreatPlains
A #Laurier and @UnivofGh exchange has received Queen Elizabeth Scholarship funding.
Focused on climate-induced migration, Laurier undergraduate students will travel to Ghana for 60-day internships & graduate students will study at Laurier for a semester.

@EM203_sanaa Best actions = things we should be doing anyhow: increasing supply of affordable housing, improving access to basic health care, ensuring migrants have same rights/protections as other workers, making sure schools can meet needs of migrants’ kids, facilitating remittances…
@Em203AB9 Most college/uni campuses have student-run environmental clubs/orgs, which are a great place to start (like @WLU_EcoHawks_w). High school students can join their student councils & other clubs and encourage them to take climate action
@EM203OmarKhan Stats from @IDMC_Geneva show floods and extreme storms already displace millions of people each year. As the frequency & severity of such events increase, it seems inevitable even more people will be displaced in coming years; @WorldBank projects as many as 215M by 2050s.
