This has been quite some time in the making - the definitive origin story, masterfully told by @mickbrownwriter and @rmendick (and edited by me). It is forensically detailed and very long - well worth your time. Or you can listen to it at the same link. https://t.co/I7sAsI5FZJ
An extraordinary and highly entertaining dispatch from @rmendick, the only reporter to get to the outer Chagos Islands with its new group of settlers. https://t.co/H2jb33ITCd

What a fabulous FT review today of #Kingmaker by @soniapurnell the rollicking biography of Winston Churchill’s remarkable daughter in law #PamelaHarriman. Credit to the brilliant @clemencybh who “got” the book and wrote with such insight.
An extraordinary candid and necessary admission on how Justice was delayed and denied to the families of those whose lives were taken in the most horrific way.
@theresa_may announced a public Inquiry 24 hours after the fire. Lawyers rushed to sign up clients. Hundreds of millions of pounds later, no criminal charges or prosecutions. The Inquiry delayed criminal prosecutions and has meant that some may never be charged now because they have practiced their defence and the "Web of blame" will protect from potential charges.
Remarkable journalism by @rmendick calling out the elephant in the room
"We were at our most vulnerable instead of protecting us, the Government set us on a path we did not understand and no one explained the consequences and impact on our right to justice."
V proud of this important episode we’ve made for @DailyTPodcast on Grenfell before the publication of the final report next week. Pls listen and share. Reporting by the fantastic @rmendick and expertly presented by @kamalahmednews. Big thanks to @venetiarainey + @louisawells1 🎧

In March my old agent Andrew Lownie invited me to appear on his podcast to discuss the case of MI6/GCHQ officer Gareth Williams, the so-called spy in the bag.
I forgot to mention this train takes 50% longer on a Sunday. Hats off to the Avanti fat cats who can’t provide enough trains or carriages on one of the busiest days of the year. Happy Mothering Sunday @AvantiWestCoast
The world’s worst train company continues to excel. Tickets now £108.50 London to Manchester return and yet again no seats and passengers are left to stand with no apology and no refund. Genius. @AvantiWestCoast
Avanti charges £104 return to Manchester but can’t run enough trains to enable passengers to actually have what is known as a seat. World class again from the world’s worst train company @AvantiWestCoast
