VEDIC SECRETS OF THE NARMADA RIVER
Vedic teachings center on the Saraswati River.
Yet there is another river with much significance and history that must also be honored. That is the Narmada, which flows through Madhya Pradesh at the Center and Heart of India.
NARMADA, THE RIVER OF SHIVA
The Narmada is famous as the River of Shiva Mahadev. Sacred Shiva Linga stones come from her banks. The great Shiva Jyotir Linga temples of Omkareshwara, Shiva as OM, and MahaKala, Shiva as the Lord of Time, which marks the central point of India's astronomical calculations, are in the region of the Narmada.
The Narmada has long been examined in archaeological studies. It is the most continually occupied River in India, going back to the Ice Ages. The Bhimbetka Rock Shelters in the Narmada region go back to 100,000 years and have many notable petroglyphs, designs and cave paintings, more than any other site in India, suggesting an enduring culture.
NARMADA and the BHRIGU RISHIS
The Narmada is connected to the Bhrigu Rishis, named after Bhrigu of the seven Rishis who is named after the planet Venus (Bhrigu). The Bhrigus are sons of Varuna, Deity of the Ocean. They are connected to Soma and the Somnath Shiva temple to the north of Bhrigukaccha, modern Bharuch, by the banks of the Narmada in Gujarat.
The Bhrigus are mentioned in many Vedic texts.
The Taittiriya Tradition, including the Taittiriya Brahmana and Upanishad derive from them.
NARMADA AND SARASVATI RIVER
The Narmada flows into the ocean not far from where the Saraswati River used to flow into the sea. This suggests a common ocean travel between the Saraswati River coastal region and the Narmada in Vedic times.
The Narmada River towards the ocean was the land of the Yadus, one of the main Vedic families in the lunar dynasties from which Sri Krishna came.
CONCLUSION
I would suggest that the Bhrigus were part of an ancient Vedic/Bharata tradition going back to the Ice Age, in which the Narmada and Saraswati Rivers had a common connection to the sea.
The Sarasvati Rishis were connected to Brihaspati, the planet Jupiter, which derive from the Angirasa Rishis, connected to Agni, complementary to the Soma Rishis of the Bhrigus related to Bhrigu/Venus. Many ancient spiritual traditions like those of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Mexico and Peru, had calendars focused on Venus.
CALL FOR FURTHER STUDY OF THE NARMADA
Narmada sites can be traced back to Harappan times and earlier.
As marking the center of the Indian subcontinent with access by the sea and by land to North and East India, it was an important region of communication.
Vedic civilization could have reflected an earlier Narmada/Sarasvati maritime civilization.

On 13 December 2001, during the terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament, she alerted security forces and helped prevent the attackers from gaining unhindered access to the Parliament complex. Despite being shot multiple times, she continued her duty until her last breath.

For her exceptional bravery and supreme sacrifice, she was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.
