@SOlsonEducator You bet I did because they stopped responding to their own names! 😂
They chose to call me .. wait for it.. YOGURT! I really hope they were thinking of like a "fun flavored" yogurt. Maybe like an oreo flavored one or something. Hah
A bittersweetast day.
nanny kids asked me to call them "party pooper" and "sweet steak" today.. oh my.
Also, I got an "I love you" when I dropped them off at golf lessons 😭
Going to miss these crazy kiddos.
tomorrow is our official start to WEDDING PLANNING!!! 💍
the "planner" in me is so excited but the "stingy" part of me is stressing out a little bit.
I cannot wait to plan with my guy and make it what WE want. AHH! YAY!
nanny hack 101 :
to get the kiddos to eat their fruit/veggies, add a small side of nutella
this summer we have paired nutella with carrots & strawberries (tastes pretty good, too!)
🤪🤪 anything to get those healthy foods down!
learning a lot from a 5 year old this summer - such as new words :
scunscreen = sunscreen
mowhak = hammock
snickness = COVID
He also speaks a little bit like YODA... which I love.
I had a student ask to set up a call today, so we did.
In our 35 min conversation we talked about ALL the Starbucks flavors and DQ Blizzards. They finished their homework while I finished mine!
Sometimes we just need to have someone to talk to about anything and everything.
I am grateful for a student who, almost daily, comments on our daily Google Classroom post just to say "Good morning, Ms. Harrington".
It really is the little things that I miss the most.
I long to go camping this summer.
Take long hikes.
Try out my new hiking boots.
Enjoy bonfires.
Laugh & tell stories with the family.
Play Farkle & Scrabble.
Take naps in the hammock.
Judge C Magney two times in one summer. I am blessed to have the resources to allow us to go.
I GOT TO SEE THEIR FACES TODAY
{SMILES, SAD FACES & LOOKING OFF INTO THE DISTANCE - just like in class}
Next week we have small group video chats starting because I know they will feel more comfortable speaking openly.
I'm grateful for technology (some days).
after listening to my recorded math lessons and videos to my students, I have found two words I need to stop saying - okay & so
Okay, so I'm going to go practice that right now, okay?
HAHA.
handwriting 24 *personalized* notes to my students to remind them that they matter & that I care for them.
A simple act of kindness that took a little bit of my time but might make at least one student smile a little bit.
I sure am missing these kiddos.
PS envelopes had adhesive!
