Disney’s lawyers likely pointed out that Kimmel had a huge potential lawsuit due to recent Supreme Court rulings. Then a 4 billion dollar drop and massive outrage from the industry made Disney rethink.

Meanwhile, White House counsel likely also told Trump and Carr that their public statements crossed a line and Kimmel would have cause.
