@SportsThor I wonder how much of the problem is who Katz hired and how much is Katz?
Too big a sample of strange decisions over too long a time with multiple, different hockey ops personnel.
@SportsThor Doesn't hire the right people and then interferes with their decisions.
People say Oilers have been in win now mode the last 4 years. Actually, they've been blowing their load with bad decisions every year since Hall.
@AdamsOnHockey Also a lesson for hockey management/ownership, when you get close and don't win, don't lose your sh*t and blow holes in your team and your assets. Keep making incremental improvements.
@mikepinorealtor I get Cooper wanting to work with Connor and Drai. Would he choose to leave Vinnik/Brisbois work for Daryl Katz and whatever the hockey ops regime of the moment is? I can't see it.
@jimmyvan@BleedOilBlue Yes. The win-now moves started with Chiarelli - probably at the behest of Katz . McDavid was drafted into a depleted team because of Oilers poor draft and dev. Oilers should have had Chia build their asset base but owner was impatient.
@travisyost Is there a way to put "EV" in a bold, underlined 48pt font for the Bouchard doubters in the fan base and media.
I'm pretty sick of hearing "I'd like Bouchard if Cale Makar wasn't already on PP1".
@thejackhopkins The US is now getting schooled on the regular about democratic values by much smaller and/or younger democracies like Brazil, Ukraine, Canada, Scandinavian and Baltic countries. Embarrassing.
@thejackhopkins Not just a pedo-ring, a komprimat-ring. Industrial-scale honeypot. His testimony and records would implicate DJT and Putin.
Sounds tinfoil-hattish but the emerging Epstein, Oligarch connection evidence fits the narrative.
@wyshynski It means that even in this CBA "concession" to players, there is a vague opening for the NHL to put the hammer down if the outfit is not to their liking
