@missiongermanr1@elhotzo Na los, du Superhirn – versuch es doch noch einmal. Diesmal aber bitte so, dass deine Argumentation nicht wie ein Schweizer Käse aussieht, okay?
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Ok, now you're just trolling. Literally gave you an example - thats achievable, and realistic.
Have you ever even tried to walk 30 minutes and back to a grocery store as a regular chore?
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Yes its unwalkable, cuz a 1.5 miles in any direction is 30min walking (without considering terrain - with roads for cars everywhere, can take longer).While most European cities have a grocery store within 5 minutes walking (thats .25 miles)
(And restaurants up to 15 min walking)
@missiongermanr1@elhotzo Na, du Genie.
Erklär mir doch mal, wie man durch die Verbrennung von 60 mil für bereits bestehenden Wohnraum mehr Wohnraum schafft.
Welche physikalischen Gesetze gedenkt "Die Linke" da eigentlich zu brechen?
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau You never asked, you started accusing me of being a bot.
Build more wellconnected bike lanes, build more bus lanes, build more trams and metros, make more walkable streets - and stop accommodating cars everywhere.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Yes, like benifiting car owners over everyone else with road space IS bad policy.
More to the point, drivers also benifit by quicker comutes with less cars on the road as people get to choose other ways of transport.
This isn't even getting into the financial burden a car is
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Travel ouside the US sometimes, walk around a walkable city and use a tram (id recommend Amsterdam or Copenhagen) - and be surprised how nice it is not having to carry a 4.5k lbs hunk of steel with you.
Watch some not just bikes maybe.
This conversation is getting boring
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau When the conversation comes to "we need to spend more money on public transportation" or "why is it taking so long" ill be right there arguing for private initiative - but that requires a market condusive to that.
(Examples: Japans JR, By&havn & HK MTR)
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau about subsedieze - as much as i hate them, we have multiple market distortions that need to be corrected, for a normal market to wrok again,thanks to excessive spending on bad infra.
Government intervention to correct the market is needed - it wont be perfect, but itll be better
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau People who want to force car infrastructure on the rest of society are Myopic - can you read?
Not evil, nor dumb - maybe ignorant and like all people, a bit selfish.
I like driving, i like cars, hate car centric infrastructure.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Deflection isnt an argument:
You pointed at America.
London, Paris, Berlin and Rome (and especially Rome) have their issues - but compared to any US city, the US is way behind.
The only perfect cities are Amsterdam, Tokyo and Copenhagen (in no particular order)
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Im running to defend good policy - regardless of who is backing it.
It doesn't have to affect me directly, to argue that Americans would live better with more transportation options.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Also, lowkey interesting that a pro-gun pro-car American is ok with subsidization and government intervention, but only when its perceived to make your life style better (it doesn't, cuz you're stuck in traffic longer, and bill gets bigger)
I'd recommend reconsideing this tweet.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Subsidizing roads distorts price signals by making driving appear artificially cheap, driving up excess demand and congestion. By masking true costs, it shields infrastructure choices from real market discipline and creates massive, unsustainable maintenance backlogs.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau Idk how you read "emotional" from that.
Im pro-gun, and frankly Europeans do it better, when they do it - look at Chechia.
Lastly, im not accusing car centric ppl of being mean - just myopic - especially when their infrastructure is centered around the car, and not people.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau C. General Motors streetcar conspiracy - https://t.co/VCzBPqFbjO
Right.
I have plenty of arguments that don't fit into a 280 character limit.
More to the point, im arguing to expand transportation choices, so that even car brained ppl can enjoy the roads.
@Tandog1984@FietserGlasgow@GazzaofLondon@Boenau A. Only people who defend car centric policies are people who already own a car, and dislike sharing the road with more efficient forms of transport - this is mostly Americans
B. You know Twitter recommend you shit on the feed based on your interests and what ragebaits you,right?
