The mask slips. First MAID was sold as tightly controlled compassion. Now the same enlightened class is floating organ retrieval from sedated patients before they are legally dead because, apparently, once the state normalizes physician killing, the old do not kill rule becomes an inconvenience. The paper says voluntary euthanasia creates a new ethical context. Right, because after you bulldoze one moral barrier, the next one is just paperwork. Even a University of Toronto bioethicist says the public would be horrified, as reported.

And there is the Trudeau-era Canada problem in one grotesque frame: boundaries erased, language sanitized, trust treated as collateral damage. They call it autonomy, safeguards, transparency. What it looks like is a system teaching vulnerable people that their final civic duty is to become inventory. Canada already leads countries with legalized euthanasia in organ donations after MAID. Once a regime starts measuring compassion by procedural efficiency and organ quality, don’t pretend this is still medicine in any normal national sense.
