Yesterday, NASA confirmed that Astrobotic will provide the lunar transportation layer via its Griffin lander for the Moon Base II landing.

Against this backdrop, Redwire could potentially be involved through multiple layers of the emerging lunar architecture. One area is scalable surface power, where its ROSA solar arrays is integrated into Astrobotic’s VSAT system.

Redwire also participated in DARPA’s LunA-10 study, which focused on designing a lunar infrastructure architecture capable of supporting a commercial ecosystem, including AI and machine learning enabled guidance, navigation, and positioning (GNC & PNT) capabilities.

Redwire’s Digital Ecosystem for Mission and System Integration (DEMSI) could support simulation and planning for surface deployment scenarios involving its Mason system.

Mason is Redwire’s in-situ manufacturing technology designed to convert lunar regolith into a cement-like material for building structures. It is built to be platform agnostic, compatible with landers, rovers, and robotic arms.

In June 2025, Redwire completed Mason’s Critical Design Review with NASA, marking a key milestone toward flight readiness and eventual deployment.
