#Filmphotography hobbyist for more than 4 decades. I also love classical music, jazz, some books, a few films, good food and--above all--good people :-)
‘‘I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it’’
(From “The Friends of Voltaire” (1906) by S. G. Tallentyre, pseudonym for Evelyn Beatrice Hall. The quote is often, wrongly, attributed to Voltaire himself)
Tracking down and confronting the thieves of USD 25,000 worth of #photography gear in central #Copenhagen, and getting everything back, thanks to AirTags in the bag and a bottom plate. Useful devices but it can be dangerous to confront thieves, of course.

@analogfilmphoto@MikoPoloczanski Les Victor in Paris has serviced my 205FCC several times, among others for a stuck mirror and general CLA. I don’t know if they would be able to, e.g. replace the shutter; my guess is that it would be down to the availability of spare parts.
My Hasselblad 2003 FCW got jammed, Hasselblad refused to service it…Searched online and found who seems the only person servicing these 2000 / 200 series. René from Service Camera Pro in Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦 He’s a great guy. Just got it back and it’s working great!
Very useful reply. To me, Lina Bessanova’s recent airport test was a big eye opener due to her comparisons of non-scanned film vs. X-Ray’d vs. CT scanned film. I am considering to buy & get film processed locally when traveling but it will require so much more planning.
Very extensive airport X-Ray and CT scanner test with many, many rolls of film. Apparently, CT scanning of film should be avoided like the plague. A super interesting watch, I find.

@simon_diamond @CBPhotoArts Me too + follow you there now! All the best for 2024. I might follow your example, but am reluctant to have my history here deleted.
New hand luggage scanners in Fiumicino Airport, Rome, Italy, are marked “No Film Safe”.
I asked staff what to do when traveling with film. They explained that they will hand inspect film upon request.
@8888SEB@UsedPhotoPro Congratulations. Don't know the model but it looks *very* nice for "as-is"! I look forward to hearing how you like the camera+lens.
I wanted a film+digital system sharing lenses and almost bought EOS last year. In the end, I went for Minolta AF and Sony, however.
@peterPhotos @DrMarsRover @ZDP189@AllThingsEla I certainly have interacted with people, yes! And overall, I would say that it has been very positive experience. I even toyed with the idea of setting up a Mastodon server for analogue photography. Maybe it has happened in the meantime...
@Stokesy1966@RealLuckless I understand you. Where I live, there is a lot of focus on environment and e-cars, not much debate about speed, accidents, congestion—or the idea of a future without privately owned cars for that matter.
@AllThingsEla @DrMarsRover @ZDP189 Place where the sky is blue? I feel I must have missed the emergence of an entire new platform? Thanks, Monika and fellow-Dane Lea! I'd love to get a code!
