@TheBoxAndOne_ Being able to perform a rip move is aided by a quick triple-threat w/either foot able to become the pivot foot. That basic catch footwork seems to be taught less than it could be. Almost all of the catch footwork I see kids learning is solely the chop-step w/a quick shot in mind.

@TheBoxAndOne_ Completely outdated is probably overstating it a bit, but it’s a fair point that it shouldn’t be the default on every catch like it once was. It’s still situationally useful though, and those quick reads, while ideal, don’t come easily to every player, especially young ones.
