Is cost per token even a relevant metric?

Not really.
What actually matters is cost per task:
cost per task = tokens used × price per token

A model cheaper per token can cost more if it uses more tokens or needs retries.

Unfortunately this is not tracked by most benchmarks.

It was a mistake that @dfinity gradually let the “World Computer” narrative fade into the background, instead of doubling down on it.

As we can see from Vitalik’s recent statement, world computer challenges are actually the core problem crypto is trying to solve — and DFINITY has already solved them.

Instead, $ICP started chasing the AI hype. AI is great, no doubt.
But the real value of this blockchain is much deeper:
