Great APPG meeting yesterday focusing on the urgent need to improve driver facilities across the UK. Thanks to our speakers @TomCornwell_@motoway and @williamgilder.

The APPG's recent report is calling for the introduction of an essential user rebate for UK drivers. It is essential that Government ensures the future viability of this essential industry.
Another key finding of the @roadfreightappg's Fuel Duty report highlights how the huge increases in running costs are having a detrimental impact on both businesses and consumers.
Following the publication of our #fuelduty report we would like to highlight some of our key findings. Our industry survey found that 92% of hauliers have felt little to no impact following the Government's 5p cut to fuel duty earlier this year.
Coverage in @ExpressandStar today highlighting the need for further Government intervention amidst rising fuel prices. APPG Chair @gregsmith_uk said that a failure to act now will “risk making an already challenging situation significantly worse”.

Great piece in the @DailyMirror today highlighting the key findings of the @roadfreightappg's #fuelduty report. The report concludes that rivers should have 15p taken off their fuel duty, which would have a knock on effect in reducing supermarket costs.

Fantastic to have so much parliamentary support at our drop-in event yesterday to highlight the poor facilities drivers across the UK face. Thanks to @RHANews for providing an industry perspective. It's crucial that hauliers have access to safe and secure facilities @gregsmith_uk
Quite a ‘transport’ orientated day yesterday with private @TransportCttee meeting ahead of this am’s witness session, & assisted @roadfreightappg & their xparty letter signing session (inc. TSC colleagues) to push need for better facilities for HGV drivers & those in the sector.
I’m supporting the @roadfreightappg calling for the Government to ensure our #HGV drivers have access to clean, good quality hygiene and food facilities with safe and secure parking for both drivers and their vehicles.🚚
Great to see the APPG and its current fuel duty inquiry mentioned on @BBCNews today by @LesleyOBrienOBE, who provided evidence to the APPG on the impact of rising fuel costs on UK haulage businesses. We look forward to sharing our findings in the coming weeks @gregsmith_uk.
