@ShotTakingTime No kidding! Caramouche almost choked Laurelin off her feet and then when he asked her to go you could see the confusion on her face like, "What the fuck does this guy want from me?"
@GregReinhart Why should the best horses have more advantage than they already do? I understand owners want a jogburger elim and the best post in the final. That isn't really great for the gambler.
@Pullthepocket I get that it steals some thunder from the final. But I don't think seeding elims is great either. There are too many advantages to the top horses. Oak Grove is doing it right. Open draw and no automatic separation for entries in elims.
@KenWo4LiFe@AlTheBoss03 Modern day Satchel Paige. He was prevented from playing in the big leagues in his prime. Was probably in his 40s when he pitched for the Sox. He'd be in my Hall of Fame.
@Danegan50@EJXD2 I bet Umbrella Fella that day too. That race was actually my awakening to playing for value. I had been reading Frank Cotolo's gambling essays. I was trying to get my head around betting against the horse I thought had the best chance to win because of price.
@Pullthepocket It's a long drive from Oak Grove. Who cares about the "fans." Most of them are in the casino playing video poker. Gotta accommodate the drivers and owners.
