@ibdgirl76 My poor 90 year old dad, who has severe osteoarthritis in his spine, shoulder and ankle is prescribed tons of Tylenol for his pain instead of increasing his Norco dose despite him also dealing with persistent gastrointestinal problems.
@ravensspirit68 You left out the option “I don’t wear a mask because 1)I got the vaccine and 2) get vaccine boosters and 3)willing to mask when risk to me or others is high
@ThomasKlineMD I feel traumatized after some visits. Pain clinics have become weird. Lots of turn-over employees. I've had 3 diff. prescribers and many more MA's, in the past year and a half.
@ThomasKlineMD This question seems incomplete and ambiguous for a valid polling question. Do you mean organic sleeplessness? From unrelieved pain? From worry and anxiety? Also, I could be wrong but I thought night terrors happen in upon awakening from sleep not when sleepless. ???
2- Unacceptable. "My wife called 17 doctors this past week looking for some kind of help. The only doctor who agreed to see me refused to help in any way."

A patient in TX was told she had to use this “Medication Compliance” device on their pain med. cap.Can someone guide me towards the current laws on mandating the use of these monitoring devices?
@DanLairdMD@ThomasKlineMD#ChronicPain#opioidcrisis
Dear Fellow Physicians,
When you advise #hapc patients to just stop their opioid therapy, you need a much better reason than the tired trope, “Opioids are bad.”

@neuro_melody Back in mid ‘90’s, a national Fibromyalgia PATIENT conference was held in San Antonio. Patients heard the same research presentations being given to professionals. It was incredible! Never underestimate patients’ desired to learn about what affects them. #ChronicPain#opioids
@Katamac1967 Recently it’s been hard to find 10mg tabs in stock where I live. When that’s the case, I ask my dr. to Rx twice as many 5mg tabs, which the pharmacy has had better luck keeping in stock. Wishing fellow pain patients find the treatment and compassion they deserve. #chronicpain
@ThomasKlineMD@lucillecrane9 To be clear, there are more treatment options for FM than just the ones listed in this poll, such as muscle relaxers, trigger point injections, topicals, massage, etc. I’d guess that for most #fibromyalgia patients it takes a “toolkit” of options to best manage their pain.
@ThomasKlineMD@lucillecrane9 At some point tolerance to #opioids will inevitably develop, require higher dosages, and eventually the dose needed to relieve pain will exceed what doctors will prescribe and/or insurance will pay for. (2 of 2) #fibromyalgia#chronicpain
@ThomasKlineMD@lucillecrane9 For fibromyalgia, “starting with titrated opioid Rx” may be right for some patients, however #fibromyalgia flares vary in frequency, intensity and duration for every patient. Because Fm tends to be lifelong, Rx #opioids should be avoided as long as possible.(1 of 2) #chronicpain
@LukeKimber32 A key reason THE ISSUE OF UNTREATED PAIN, PAIN-SUFFERING & #UntreatedPainSUICIDES R not being addressed is, due to severe, life-threatening (suicidals due to unbearable pain), bedriddenness illness, #PainPts can't get out & MARCH, too-painful to contact lawmakers, helpless.
@CMerandi Insurance can not dictate your treatment, but they can limit what they’ll pay for, unless you are able to obtain their approval of an exception to the formulary. I have had to deal with this same situation & for a while I paid out of pocket for what insurance wouldn’t pay for.
