1 Thessalonians 4:13 DBY โ But we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them that are fallen asleep, to the end that ye be not grieved even as also the rest who have no hope.
@danae_hudlow The Korean/International market down the street (in Rancho Cordova, CA) has it. Not EXACTLY like a giant rectangular jellybean cut into squares. More subtle sweetness and flavor. The white powder is 1:1 sugar/cornstarch otherwise it would be too sticky.
@MetzUAC1530 In American English we have a problem with using the first names of people we have owed title+surname to in the past. It's too familiar. Title+surname is too formal. So we don't address them by name at all.
@LauraRbnsn Your dating
1. Rejects the supernatural
and
2. Rejects a hard saying of Jesus, "This generation shall not pass away..." which is about the Parousia, not just the misery of Jerusalem.
@stevebward@TheOrthoEnsign@KeenanMiller7 The parable of the vine dressers, the reconciliation of God and man brought through the Cross is not addressed.
The Atonement is a work of the Triune God, not an independent act of the Father. "Whom God set forth as a propitiatory, through faith, in his blood."
@ferrismattic I didn't think of a choir as a band, so I didn't mention hearing the B Minor Mass from the 1st-tier choir at Cal.
Or the African Children's Choir.
Or the Messiah Sing that used to happen at the Flint Center.
Or any choir I've been in, including the 2nd-tier choir at Cal.
@ferrismattic Jethro Tull
The Celtic Tradition
Orphan Egg
Hush
Saratoga High School marching band
The Incomparable Leland Stanford Junior University marching band
The Cal marching band
Worship ensemble at my present church
Worship ensemble at prev. church
A pipe band on the street in Aberdeen
@ferrismattic Items 2-4 were from my hometown so you never heard of them.
I forgot San Jose Taiko, who are quite good.
The Stanford band calls itself "incomparable" over the PA system in case the adjective didn't occur to the audience.
@wrowclif Have they already covered the 4th grade math topics? By late May, it's possible they have.
So with what little remains of the school year, let them introduce such a simple, yet powerful and practical concept.
@BamaExpat The word is translated "kinsman" or "avenger" (as in "the avenger of the blood"). It also means "redeem".
It's not the same word as "marrying the widow of the late brother." (Which is an obligation arising from being the "kinsman".)
@LauraRbnsn@Pastor_Gabe@JaredCBurt Deborah, nonetheless, prophesied under a tree, not in the general and mandatory weekly gathering of the church.
She was not an elder/bishop/pastor/teacher of the church either. Elders are not prophets who receive oracles from God directly.
@Pastor_Gabe@JaredCBurt@LauraRbnsn If Deborah had been an evil judge, THAT would have been a problem, a humiliation even.
She prophesied deliverance for Israel. No humiliation there. /4-end
@Pastor_Gabe@JaredCBurt@LauraRbnsn In the New Testament, as prophesied in the Old, the gift of prophecy was given to women.
Deborah and some other women were given the gift before the New Testament.
The evil judge in the parable "did not fear God or respect people." /3
