This is not a detainment camp in World War II, nor a prison in the Holocaust, this is Gaza. A chilling reminder that history repeats.
A holocaust is happening right before our eyes and the world is silent
Israel murdered the director of the Egyptian Committee in Gaza while Egypt were playing their biggest World Cup game in generations, days after Egypt’s head coach spoke up for Palestine.
This timing is not something anyone should be brushing off as coincidence.
On top of the water breaks and taking red cars away by just having the President call, today @FIFAWorldCup is adding a new change! @SEFutbol and @selecaoportugal will play with 2 Goals but only one goalie! 🥳😆😇😎
It’s a national holiday, but I’m working — because Prime Minister Mark Carney made what I’d argue will be one of the most consequential announcements of his time in office yesterday.
Canada, under Carney, is abandoning major goals in our fight against the climate crisis.
Here's what's going on:
Palestinian-Canadians have human rights and their own narrative. It is a historical fact that a million Palestinians were displaced and dispossessed in 1948. They suffered massacres and destroyed homes. Instead of interfering with history, politicians would do better learning it.
Why in the fuck did it take the UN two and a half years to admit Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza? What is even THE POINT of the UN and The Hague if we don’t actually punish the evil people slaughtering innocents?
#OtD 25 Jun 1876 the Battle of the Little Bighorn began when Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes routed General Custer's army, killing Custer in the process. A full account of the battle is in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: https://t.co/Lg8b4sGy1G
'It's a disgraceful comment to make...'
@jeremycorbyn reacts to Starmer's comments on his Labour leadership, and reveals his parting message to the PM.
No neoliberal govt will build adequate social housing numbers to end the cost of living crisis in housing. Labour is a neoliberal govt and won't change its ideology back to socialism.
Corbyn tried to wrest the Labour Party away from neoliberalism and was ousted and smeared as an antisemite to discredit him and taint socialism. Burnham isn't going to decouple Britain from neoliberalism just put a lick of paint over it.
Poverty, homelessness and the many other problems in our society won’t be fixed by a change in personality.
They will only be fixed by a radical change in policy — away from austerity and privatisation, and toward a redistribution of wealth and power.
