I am predicting that one of the conservative SCOTUS judges will step down within the next month and a confirmation process will start that lasts through the election.
Zohran just said "Socialists just solved years of Capitalist mismanagement"
The State of New York just gave his administration an $8B bailout and he deferred pension payments.
This is bold face lying.
@NYCMayor@ZohranKMamdani And by neglecting the public pension responsibilities of the city. You don’t “delay” these obligations, it’s a ticking time bomb that someone else will have to deal with after you have left office.
Just smoke and mirrors.
It’s not often I agree with Sen Sanders, but money in politics, especially dark money, has made elected officials too beholden to forces we can’t even see. While political speech is protected free speech, we need to open the windows and see the corners where the rats are hiding.
The Supreme Court today made a corrupt campaign finance system even worse. The Court struck down limits on the coordination between candidates and political parties, giving billionaires even more power.
Billionaires buying elections is not democracy. It’s Oligarchy.
Justice Jackson, Kagan, and Sotomayor ruled against women having equal protection under the law.
Liberal women, yet again, prove to be the biggest hurdle women face.
@JRVanHoose While I believe the court got it right for humanitarian reasons, it’s not because “the 14th amendment is very clear.” If we were sticking to the original (and very clear) intent of the 14th amendment, there would be no loophole for those who came here without permission.
@GavinNewsom This is hyperbole, of course. The court got it right I believe, but when an amendment was passed to recognize the citizenship status of freed slaves, it was never intended to be an loophole for those who came here without permission.
77 years of ‘genocide’ and the Palestinian population has grown from under 1 million to over 5 million.
Israel must be the most incompetent genocidal nation in history.
The first draft of the Declaration of Independence included this passage on the slave trade:
"he has waged cruel war against human nature itself, violating it's most sacred rights of life & liberty in the persons of a distant people who never offended him, captivating & carrying them into slavery in another hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their transportation thither. this piratical warfare, the opprobrium ofinfidel powers, is the warfare of the CHRISTIAN king of Great Britain. determined to keep open a market where MEN should be bought & sold, he has prostituted his negative for suppressing every legislative attempt to prohibit or to restrain this execrable commerce: and that this assemblage of horrors might want no fact of distinguished die, he is now exciting those very people to rise in arms among us, and to purchase that liberty of which he has deprived them, & murdering the people upon whom he also obtruded them; thus paying off former crimes committed against the liberties of one people, with crimes which he urges them to commit against the lives of another."
Jefferson would later write that the passage "Was struck out in compliance to South Carolina and Georgia, who had never attempted to restrain the importation of slaves, and who on the contrary wished to continue it."
"Heartbreaking" was reserved for a loss in a game. Yet more than 40,000 innocent people were killed less than six months ago inside of Iran, and somehow that wasn't considered heartbreaking.
If we let it, the media will destroy this country by continuing to twist reality.
In Matthew chapter 21: Christ drove the money changers from the temple, crying, "You have turned the house of prayer into a den of thieves."
What do you think He would make of Trump and his pals?
We are deeply saddened by the loss of long-time Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein. We had a great working relationship, and as a consummate professional, Kenny always represented his institution well and embraced the rivalry while keeping the competition between the white lines. Our condolences are with his family, friends, and the countless athletes, coaches, administrators and media who benefited from his presence.
This is a textbook-perfect response - clear, strong, unwavering, specific. Mamdani has great political instincts, the best the Democrats have with the possible exception of Josh Shapiro. The problem is that he only achieved success by harnessing the hatred of the anti-semites.
The swastika carved into a car on the Upper East Side is a despicable act of antisemitism. It is a hateful attack of intimidation on our Jewish neighbors and on the values that make our city what it is.
I have full confidence the NYPD, which is investigating this as a hate crime, will do everything to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
To every Jewish New Yorker: your city stands with you. We will confront acts of antisemitism wherever they appear with urgency and without exception.
