Full credit to all my group members past and present for their fantastic work, as well as our many excellent collaborators. Also a big thank you to my family for support throughout and tolerating many beamtime trips along the way.
🥳🥳Many congratulations to Rob Weatherup on attaining Full Professorship!
Rob is now Professor of Energy Materials - you can read about his amazing research online: https://t.co/OcLblghbzf.

Lijin An and @Rob_erando@OxfordMaterials led an exciting study using @esrfsynchrotron x-ray Raman to track the state of nickel #battery 🔋 cathode particles as they charge (and I made a small modelling contribution). Why does this matter? A short 🧵 https://t.co/bzynj2xyFa
@CabanaChemistry@seidlerLab @PiperXray @FaradayInst We’ve recently looked at this with LiNiO2:

Interestingly, the XRS shows only reversible Ni oxidation in the bulk, while FY (and IPFY) shows Ni reduction and oxygen dimer formation in the outer 200nm nearest to the electrolyte.
Congratulations to Michael and Lizzie. Our first two DPhils from the group with excellent work on Batteries and Catalysis respectively. Very proud supervisor.
