Two Texas Tech Officers were ambushed and shot. Other officers returned fire, killing the suspect. Both Officers are in stable condition and expected to fully recover.

This is the daily reality for Texas law enforcement.

May 17, 2024 — Surprise, Arizona.
When a suspect held his partner and infant hostage, Officers Vega-Reid and Scott of the Surprise PD SWAT team ran toward gunfire to save them. Without hesitation, they entered the home under fire, searching for the baby.

Their bravery and training led them to hear the cry of baby Jaxson, who had been shot but was alive. They rescued him and brought him to safety, risking everything to protect life.

We remember the heroism of these officers who gave everything to save a child. Their courage defines what it means to serve.
