Wood County Sgt. Jaclyn Skinner survived the gunfire, but her fight did not end there.

Denied referrals. Delayed care. Needed medical equipment withheld.

That should outrage every Texan.

TMPA stood with Sgt. Skinner at the State Capitol as she testified about the broken system injured officers are being forced to fight.

Thankfully, Chairman Cole Hefner and other committee members made it clear this issue deserves serious attention.

Sgt. Skinner deserves better.

Every injured officer deserves better.

Today, TMPA testified at the State Capitol alongside Wood County, TX Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jaclyn Skinner, who was shot four times while serving an arrest warrant.

Her fight did not end when the gunfire stopped.

Denied referrals. Delayed care. Needed medical equipment withheld.

That should outrage every Texan.

Thankfully, Chairman @ColeHefnerTX and other committee members made it clear today that this broken system deserves serious attention.

TMPA will keep fighting until injured officers get the care they earned.

But because proven crime-fighting technology was not available due to politics, officers were forced to search without a tool that could have helped identify violent suspects faster.

Tonight, at the Annual Candlelight Vigil at our Nation’s Capitol, TMPA Executive Director Kevin Lawrence had the solemn honor of reading the names of Texas officers added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall.

Each name represents a hero. A family forever changed. A department forever impacted. A sacrifice Texas will never forget.

Relentless Defender founder Aaron Slater also helped honor the remaining Texas officers whose names now stand on that sacred wall.

This is more than a ceremony. It is a powerful reminder that behind every name is a life of service, courage, and sacrifice.

TMPA stands with their families, their agencies, and every officer carrying the weight of the badge in their honor.

Yesterday, TMPA Regional Attorney Raoaa King responded to assist our members with the Marfa Police Department and Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office following an officer involved shooting.

Thankfully, no law enforcement has been reported injured.

Two ISIS terrorists attempted to carry out an attack at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, but they ran into something they clearly did not understand:
