CONFIRMED: Liberal Democrats will run Newcastle City Council, with support of the Greens.
Lib Dems will operate a minority administration, with the Greens providing votes under a confidence and supply agreement promising 'stability and co-operation'.
Lib Dems will be the largest party on Newcastle City Council with 25. Reform will have 24, the Greens will (probably) have 24, the Chapel Independents 3, and Labour 2.
Fun fact: unseated Gosforth councillor Doc Anand, the first Tory elected to Newcastle council for over thirty years, did not speak once in council meetings in his two years on the council and attended no committees. He will be fondly remembered for his many fancy dress costumes
Very pleased my Fawdon colleague Rob Austin has sent me this - newly installed at Fawdon shops. Brenda never would have wanted a fuss to be made of her but I think she would have been quietly chuffed by this. She deserves to be remembered by the local community.
Good to see Lib Dem candidates getting to work for their
communities in the council chamber before they are elected - Mark Ridyard on graffiti in Heaton, Dhananjay Singh on the need for a Great Park health centre, Barbara Down on pavements and potholes in Dinnington
It took @currys 42 days to respond to a complaint, only to send a posted letter saying “Sorry, you need to take your complaint directly to the store.”
When big national retailers make it this hard to get help, it’s no wonder people lose trust.
.@currys are you trying your best to prevent customers from complaining? I raised a complaint 10 days ago and told I would get phone call back within 48 hours. I’m still waiting?
Had a fantastic time supporting Molly Kitchen at their Christmas Market 🎄✨
Met Santa 🎅, chatted with families, and saw firsthand how this amazing community café gives neurodiverse young people confidence and skills.
