A cancer patient stops responding to immunotherapy. Nothing else is working.

Then they receive a fecal transplant from a healthy donor. And over half start responding again.

Not from a new drug. From bacteria.

I wrote about this recently because it's something we've been doing at Williams Cancer Institute for a while now. We were among the first clinics to use fecal microbiota transplantation as a cancer therapeutic, not just for C. difficile, but as part of our immunotherapy approach. And the science continues to validate what we've been seeing in our patients.

The gut microbiome is the beating heart of the immune system. That's something I've believed for a long time, and the research keeps reinforcing it. Studies have shown that specific bacteria, particularly Bifidobacterium longum and breve, are essential for checkpoint inhibitors like Keytruda and Opdivo to function properly.

And data presented at ASCO-SITC revealed that patients given antibiotics within one month of starting immunotherapy had a median survival of just 2 months, compared to 26 months without prior antibiotic exposure.

Think about that. The most advanced cancer drugs we have may not reach their full potential if the microbiome isn't supported. And standard probiotics alone don't solve it. Research actually suggests they can reduce the microbial diversity that matters most.

FMT is the only therapy that has been shown to truly restore gut microbiota populations. That's why we believe in it, and why we're retrospectively studying how the fecal transplants we've already performed have impacted our patients' survival alongside their immunotherapy.

What excites me most is how this connects to something bigger. I've been developing a framework I call the Duality Theory. It's the idea that cancer and aging aren't separate problems. They're two manifestations of the same underlying process: immune system dysfunction. Both involve cells, whether cancerous or senescent, that have learned to evade immune clearance. They hijack the system meant to eliminate them, and they corrupt everything around them.

As we age, our microbiomes degenerate, leading to chronic inflammation, accumulation of senescent cells, and a weakened immune response. This creates the perfect environment for cancer to take hold. A fecal transplant from a younger, healthier donor doesn't just introduce good bacteria. It may deliver rejuvenation factors that help shift the immune system toward a younger, more functional state.

I believe that if we can get the microbiome right, even without immunotherapy, we could potentially prevent cancer in many people. That could save tens of thousands of lives a year. It's something worth paying attention to.

The future of cancer care isn't just about finding better drugs. It's about understanding that your body is an ecosystem, and healing starts from within.

In 2009, a woman named Gabriela Rico Jiménez had a public breakdown in Mexico, screaming that elites "ate humans" and naming billionaires. She was institutionalized.

The video went viral and became fodder for "crazy conspiracy" compilations.

Now look at what's sitting in official FBI documents from 2019: A "purported Epstein victim" telling agents about "ritualistic sacrifice," witnessing "babies being dismembered, their intestines removed, and individuals eating the feces from these intestines."

To be clear, these remain unverified allegations from individuals the FBI itself flagged as potentially unreliable.

«Por primera vez hemos conseguido una respuesta completa, duradera y con baja toxicidad frente al cáncer de páncreas en modelos experimentales. Estos resultados indican que una estrategia racional de terapias combinadas puede cambiar el rumbo de este tumor», afirma el doctor Mariano Barbacid.
