Very happy to finally show what we've been working on at Coco Labs for the last couple of years. Meet Vyb, the first AI design model that understands your taste like a designer would.
I launched the first image and video generation models at Google, and kept asking why all AI designs look the same.
AI has brought us the WORST era of design.
It made content creation effortless, but it also made 90% of it look painfully generic.
My co-founder and I spent 2 years building in stealth to change that.

As a designer, “almost the right font” is the wrong font. And an edit that quietly changes something else creates more work. That’s why I’m glad we’re measuring these things with VybBench @cocoailabs.
More and more, image models get ranked by human vote. A vote can miss that your font changed.
Today @DavidZats and I are releasing VybBench, an open benchmark that scores design fidelity with numbers instead of votes. Ask a model to change one headline and it can nudge your font, shift your blue and redraw a corner of your logo too. Each edit changes a little more, until the design isn't yours.
VybBench scores each piece:
145 fonts, matched pixel by pixel against the real font
100 hex codes, scored on how far each color drifts
200 small edits, scored on how many pixels changed, with a judge checking the edit was made
We are not including model scores in the post, but you can see how each model scores on the Hugging Face. Every prompt, output, judge verdict and the scorer is on Hugging Face, link in the reply.
Full Disclosure: At @cocoailabs we also build Vyb - our first design model built to preserve design fidelity and taste.
@anurahk@DavidZats The frustrating part isn’t always getting the first design right. It’s keeping it right while you make changes. That’s why this benchmark matters.

"We didn't let AI generate our identity"
That's Jarrod Ballou, head of brand creative at SurveyMonkey. SurveyMonkey is the survey platform teams use to gather feedback from real people. More than 2 million people take surveys on it every day.
Ali Marie Gerrity, a creative director at SurveyMonkey, admits: "As a Creative, I was skeptical." AI took on the repeat work, like photo edits across dozens of images. Her take on the time it saved: "That time didn’t disappear. It went back into the work that actually mattered"
What I take from it: SurveyMonkey let AI speed up the busywork. People kept the choices about how the brand looks and sounds. A company built on hearing from real people wanted a brand that looks and feels human.
ŌURA makes a smart ring that tracks sleep and health. On October 8 it launched a brand film, "Wear Your Best Life," made without AI.
The stars of the film are human hands. They dance through a tiny city that 35 modelmakers in Prague built by hand at one-tenth scale. ŌURA says it was filmed live on camera. Its blog says the campaign "eschews AI".
Sophia Brose, one of the ŌURA employees who shared the film, put it this way: "No AI was used to make this film, just incredible craft."
12 sets and 8 miniature cars, made by hand in three weeks. ŌURA says that typically takes three months.
What I take from it: ŌURA uses AI inside its own product. For this film, it chose 35 modelmakers and tiny working lights instead. AI can help a team move fast. But people feel the craft.
@Yalinter@SurrealThing@moongolfer Almost certainly work in progress we shared with mFactory to promote their tool, before our launch. Lots of changes along the way.
I had a dream where there was a food called “King’s Hand”, a hollow hand made of m&m cookie, filled with Greek salad.
I could not stop thinking about it.
Here is the culmination of a week long effort.
