Mining is an essential part of the Silver State’s history, economy, and culture.
It’s also vital to our future, as Nevada is poised to lead the nation in lithium production, processing, manufacturing, and recycling, completing the lithium loop.
Earthquakes can happen as part of a sequence, aftershocks are normal and expected. If you feel the ground shake again, do not run outside.
Follow these three steps immediately:
DROP to your hands and knees
COVER your head and neck, get under a sturdy table or next to an interior wall away from windows
HOLD ON until the shaking stops and be ready to move with your shelter

Today was Readiness Day at the Nevada Office of Emergency Management.
Our team gathered for an exercise designed to test how we respond when multiple incidents strike at once. The exercise, led with care and precision by Rodney, helped us pinpoint where our processes are strong and where they can grow.
We followed with our all-hands meeting, where we thanked Tim Robb for his dedicated years of service as our liaison to the Office of the Governor.
Chief Brett Compston highlighted accomplishments across the agency, celebrated new roles and milestones, and shared a look at what lies ahead for NV OEM. He also opened the floor for questions so everyone could better understand the road forward.
