Palestinians are known to harbour militants and for creating and fostering instability. Egypt is unwilling to risk allowing extremists to enter its territory and further destabilize the volatile Sinai Peninsula.
Palestinians have been housed multiple times in Arab countries, frequently bringing political disputes, security issues, and social tensions with them. Egypt has no interest in repeating past mistakes by allowing them to settle within its borders.
Egypt views the Palestinian plight as largely self-inflicted, stemming from their leadership's chronic failures and internal conflicts. Accepting refugees, in Egypt’s view, would only perpetuate this cycle of irresponsibility, enabling poor governance while absolving Palestinian leaders of accountability.
Moreover, Egypt has its own issues to contend with. They cannot afford to take in a group that will exacerbate crime and poverty, placing further strain on deminishing resources. For Egypt, national interest and security takes precedence
Ultimately, the Palestinian predicament is a consequence of their own actions. It is not Egypt’s responsibility to intervene, especially when Palestinians have repeatedly rejected peace deals and squandered opportunities for progress.
Egypt’s position reflects a refusal to reward what some consider a history of mismanagement, prioritizing its own security and stability over the ongoing Palestinian predicament.

13.5ft, over 1,000lbs, hammerhead this morning. We set out fully committed into finding the same hammer that was circling us yesterday and she was waiting. Tagged and released her healthy. Would’ve demolished our state record but love these fish too much to kill. @AftcoFishing
I just got back from Dalgety, NSW. I was busy confirming that parts of a @SpaceX Crew-1 Trunk capsule crashed into a few paddocks in rural NSW! More info to come:
