We are honored to be recognized by @OpenAI with the Data Intelligence Platform Award.
This recognition reflects the work our teams have done together to bring frontier models into the enterprise, grounded in the governed data and context essential for solving complex business problems. We are excited to continue partnering with OpenAI to push the boundaries of enterprise intelligence.
We are looking forward to hosting @gdb, Co-founder and President of OpenAI, at Data + AI Summit. He will join Databricks CEO @alighodsi to discuss why enterprise context is the foundation for capable AI and what the future of agentic data work looks like.
We’re proud to be recognized as a Leader in the 2025 IDC MarketScape for Unified AI Governance Platforms!
The IDC MarketScape evaluated vendors on their ability to support unified governance across data, models, and agentic AI systems as organizations move from experimentation to production at scale. Databricks was recognized for its strengths in strategy and comprehensive governance across the AI lifecycle.
Thanks to @IDC for the recognition. Read the excerpt here: https://t.co/DRMA3XYwRI
Today we released an open source model, DBRX, that beats all previous open source models on the standard benchmarks. The model itself is a Mixture of Experts (MoE), that's roughly twice the brains (132B) but half the cost (36B) of Llama2-70B. Making it both smart and cheap. Since only 36B expert parameters are used live, it's close to twice the speed (tokens/seconds) of Llama2-70B. We're excited to build custom versions of this for organizations that have proprietary data! Check it out!

I miss my life before becoming a parent when these shootings were just another news story. I know what they mean now when they say that every parent in the world with a beating heart grieves at the same time. I have definitely hugged my daughter more often these days.
I love what I do every single day I get to my computer in the morning with a coffee and fire up my terminal. It has taken me too long to even begin to realize and accept that whether or not you get validated or recognized for what brings you intrinsic joy is inconsequential.
@jeniasaigak@ThePrimeagen My full migration from pure vim to pure lua with zero lua experience was about 2 months and worth every minute. Hang in there.
@TeejDeVries Life isn't about the destination. I sleep fine after a week of getting absolutely nothing done other than working on my gorgeous surf board to ride the waves with.
Thanks to inspirations from @ThePrimeagen and @TeejDeVries few months ago I gave myself the challenge to ditch qwerty and vim scripts for native lua on a dvorak kinesis, 100+ plugins later and a full re-write, might just be the best decision of my life, besides for having kids.
@WayTooEarly@kasie I'm sorry I really tried but I miss yasmin vossoughian and ayman mohyeldin and simply can't watch the new sesame street version with corny humor anymore. I must be among the minority grumps interested in news with more of a serious tone at 5 am.
@WayTooEarly I don't think I can handle anymore corny jokes about it being too early or pictures of puppies. I didn't realize the only audience for 5am MSBC were puppy lovers who hate being up so early.
Friends, we are excited to announce our Celebrity Keynote for 2021 presented by @IBMDeveloper “An audience with the fantastic @levarburton” known for his roles in Star Trek, Roots and Reading Rainbow.
