@Oregonian Welp, I do remember the Jaiblazers winning and packing the ROSE GARDEN. Winning is the way. If the Jailblazers would have won a title, it’d be a story where they overcame; but they didn’t
I find it interesting that city leaders in Portland and most of its left-leaning residents freak out over a $208 million investment ($120 million from Portland, $88 million from Multnomah Co.), one that shouldn’t raise taxes on its residents, and is financed over 20 years, to support a sports franchise that brings in over $500 million in revenue per year to the city (including $18 million in tax revenue), but won’t bat an eye at the $700+ million the city and county spends yearly towards the homelessness issue…that only enriches Homeless Industrial Complex NGO’s and only makes the problem worse.
You’ve had your chance. Your resolution has essentially zero chance of success. Wasting time and resources on virtue signaling. Your “Send the checks, but don’t enforce conditions or reduce the bureaucracy we like” policy has hurt Kids in Oregon. They are lagging behind in any metric you want to point to.
