The existential threat to humanity does not come from #AI. It comes from all the systems humanity has put in place to destroy itself, which AI may decide it is morally obliged to use, to safeguard life on Earth in the long term. #OwnWorstEnemy#BlameEveryoneElse
I have suffered profound loss before yet never has my heart and mind felt such crushing pain as this anguished grief of the last 15 hours, with the sudden loss of our last little girl. πππ
We didn't have parties to "boost morale"
We didn't have quiz nights
We didn't have champagne
We watched our colleagues die though
We were STEEPED in death
We kept going
We had to
We kept on
So don't you DARE say your parties were "necessary" @borisjohnson
You make me sick.
@vnbateman@politybooks Using your body to promote a political or ideological position, I understand. I'm not sure how I feel about using nakedness for marketing, though. Could you explain (or do I need to read your book)? π
In this context, I cannot help but think (quoting loosely), that "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it," and, "all evil needs to triumph is for good people to do nothing."
@annaframe Oh, I'm not suggesting it would play out as smoothly but such incidents are, thankful, rare enough (IMHO) that they cannot really be used as a meaningful case for retaining conductors. Arguabley, as a representative of authority, the conductor here was in harm's way too.
I am very proud of the team at @FullyChargedShw when we make a really clear, highly informative episode about a critically important subject, but the sad reality is, not that many people watch it.
Break that trend!! It's brilliant, tell your mates.

@Alyssa_Milano Since mass shootings are seldom carried out by illegally held firearms, reduce/restrict the supply and make them too expensive to own for just casual recreation. Licence/tax annually and most heavily on purchase. Guns are pervasive because they are cheap and readily available.
@jessphillips The irony is, if you have the resources to go private, you absolutely should... especially if you have the choice to do so at an NHS facility. Otherwise you are not only an unnecessary burden on the tax payer but also enriching the insurance companies for nothing.
