@BankingWriting@JonFraserTF Personally I like income tax paid.
The more you contribute, the more you get a say in how that money is spent.
I bet that approach would drive a lot of Billionaires to move to Canada and invest their money in Canada...
@CoryBMorgan To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the ten most terrifying words in the English language for an Albertan are: "I'm from the federal Government, and I'm here to help."
De Havilland Field breaking ground is a massive win for Alberta! We aren't just building homes and communities; we're building a world-class aerospace industry right here in Wheatland County. Thousands of new jobs and serious momentum! ✈️🏗️

Justin Trudeau stated in August 2022 that there had "never been a strong business case" for direct liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from Canada to Europe
German state-controlled energy group Uniper on Wednesday finalised a 20-year liquefied natural gas purchase deal with Canada as the two nations deepen their partnership.
In a preliminary deal in June, Uniper took initial steps to secure 2 million tons of gas per year from 2032 from Canada’s LNG project Ksi Lisims on British Columbia’s Pacific coast.

One of the cleanest experiments in history already settled the economic debate on capitalism vs. socialism.
Same Germans, same starting line in 1949, the only variable was the system they lived under.
West Germany under Ludwig Erhard abolished the old price controls and introduced a new currency in 1948 and industrial production jumped 50% in 6 months.
East Germany went Soviet-style central planning with the state controlling prices, production, and property.
By 1989, East Germany’s GDP per capita sat at about $9,679 while West Germany’s was roughly 3x higher, and at reunification in 1990, East German output per capita was only 55% of the West’s.
The wall fell, but the gap never closed up to this day. All to say it’s been easier to recover from an atomic bomb than years of socialist rule.
