@JRDSills Excellent thread (must have taken sometime). I don’t think the writing is on the wall though. Miners mined one thing to create energy - farming can change how it does things and grow different food (to a point).
@JRDSills@davidwhitfield3 I don’t disagree - mining towns were concentrated numbers of people. However a small number of farmersin an industry which is already significantly consolidated. Farmer no.s is all around land ownership - actual farmer numbers much lower giving contracting?
@JRDSills@st_jamescheese I guess the argument there is more that food consumption in the UK isn’t dependant on UK produced food. Much like we found other energy sources that were cheaper I.e. imported gas.
