If under the Opposition a permanent resident taxpayer (but non citizen) can’t gain welfare if they need it, why stop there. Surely non-citizens shouldn’t be able to call the police, or join a library, or seek help at a public hospital regardless of the taxes they’ve paid. 🤷♂️

If I were lachie neale’s achilles I’d be very nervous after seeing what happened to @NBA stars haliburton this year and durant in 2019 when they carried dodgy calves into deciders 😬 #AFLGF
@anndeejam It’s an indefensible act, but even in such cases there’s room for context. I think that being antagonized by the player that knocked you out illegally the last time you played, in the lead up to the act, is a reasonable point to make.
I’d be curious for a work health and safety perspective on the rankine incident. He’s done the wrong thing, but have all players (ie employees) signed on to a policy whereby if they discriminate, they agree to be hung, drawn and quartered in the public square? Is this the policy?
An excellent final observation from Gideon Haigh on Offsiders today about Gillon MCLachlan’s Tabcorp appointment and the nexus between sport, gambling and commercial broadcasters. Worth a watch and share.
