Fair use applies to everyone. I can download your video, make a "reaction" style video where I put my head in the corner talking about what I think of it and that is perfectly legal and doesn't violate copyright. If you truly don't want people using your content, the only way to try to protect it, is using a DRM and that gets tricky too because with screen recording, nothing is really off limits.

I am on your side here just trying to help explain how the RT account, if looked at it, could get away with using your video claiming fair use. They included Trump's post in the lower part of their video and yours at the top. It is transformative in nature and therefore could be considered not a violation of copyright. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice just my opinion.

@BubbleBray @brittb1994 Exactly! Ben will get his day in court very soon most likely. This is probably done using an emergency TRO so only one side gets to tell their story to the judge. Now a court date will be set, mostly likely in less than 30 days for all parties tell their side.

@KatieKeithBarn2 If your target audience for ads is the general non-technical public, ChatGPT is where most of them hang out. The part that will be interesting/scary, how much targeting will ChatGPT allow and how granular is it. Could be very telling how much privacy people give up using it.

Serious question, do you feel the use of this video clip falls under fair use? Is it transformative enough to qualify as fair use with the addition of just written text in the post and a tag to John Bryan? Or is this copyright infringement? X has a real problem with this topic right now because of the monetization strategy of paid creators. Another creator, @emilymiller has been having issues with this same problem. X offers zero support or feedback on what qualifies as fair use because I’m sure they will hide behind the legal premise they are not a publisher if it comes to a court case.

@heyamberhinds @williamsba Completely agree with you. That’s why I said I wasn’t picking a side. The statement about 35% is probably exaggerated but I doubt the number is zero. Always room to improve and verify just like websites that aren’t using best practices for accessibility.
