@PeteFleischmann @Michael_SCIE_PT @SCIE_socialcare Sometimes it's just a delaying tactic. If we wait till we have a shared understanding we'll never even start the process. Hopefully over time the process will enable a common understanding to develop
Great to chat with @YayDisability today about Disability Equality and the value Disabled employees offer to organisations wanting to be diverse and inclusive. Hear what I said on their upcoming podcast....
There are so many issues to be resolved around #Brexit but it is important that the negative effects faced by Disabled People are highlighted more widely. https://t.co/wU3pO8TpHF
Disability Rights UK has produced a manifesto on what the disability rights sector should be seeking from a post-EU UK. #Brexit https://t.co/UaujE1btmj
I do think it's interesting that the top 2 were both Disabled People and I think it was due to their talent rather than a sympathy vote so maybe we are making progress #BGT https://t.co/biC7SPIbz3
I hear exactly the same excuses when it comes to appointing Disabled People. Unfortunately things don't seem to be getting any better. https://t.co/5AebQL6hjq
Unfortunately we've heard this for years now and it never gets anywhere. Looks like the NHS and Social Care will have to fall off the cliff (if they haven't already) before we see real action. https://t.co/7GsLUkS4No
Good to see @sarahwollaston@normanlamb@leicesterliz again calling for cross-party approach, hope their colleagues & leaders will support https://t.co/0coaiFxJOW
Great to hear an empowering speech about how #NHSPHB and #IPC can improve quality of life. Let's hope more people in Hampshire can utilise it in the future. https://t.co/phN1ZOIFLG
@blimeysimon@reformthinktank I wonder how many people at the event actually had lived experience of using social care. For many of us, this is more than just an academic exercise.
Really appreciate the @BBCRadio4 for trying this new podcast. Important that people can access information about #GrenfellTower inquiry in an accessible way. Won't be fun to listen to but hopefully will aid greater understanding of the process. https://t.co/UfA41HounQ
Really interesting event with such a wide range of perspectives. Hopefully I can bring some of my knowledge of social care research and coproduction to the group and learn lots from others. https://t.co/HARGQUlv87
Thanks to all @NIHRINVOLVE for a really insightful couple of days. It’s been fascinating and I look forward to working on some of the really exciting projects @RobDroy1973@JetstreamSol@MistryTara https://t.co/7wZqbxgMVM
Are you being charged by your council for the care and support you receive? What impact does this have on you? Please complete this survey https://t.co/CKffkyp41f
@jennifermor I think the need for 'Adult paediatricians' for anyone with complex long term conditions would be welcome. It's taken me 20 years to eventually get a 'Neuro-Rehab consultant' which nearly fits what I need but it's not perfect by any means.
@drbenwhite Personal Health Budgets are about giving people choice, particularly if they have long term health conditions such as Disabled People. They allow us to get the right support at the right time, vastly freeing up district nurses et al to carry out more complex Healthcare.
@BeresfordPeter But if we can use his desperation for publicity to build a case for a 2nd referendum (so we can reverse this catastrophe) then I say let's use it. That's why many Remainers are publicising his comments, not because they like him.
