No offense but Connie truly pissed me off while she was upset at Steven, literally it's the most upset and stressed out he had been in the show by a lot and idk how she didn't realize that truly their training wouldn't have helped them out of the situation

Like op says, the crystal gems fused couldn't defeat Aquamarine, and Steven truly didn't mean to hurt her feelings, but he felt desperate that he gave himself up because he didn't know what else to do, and then he had to deal with Connie being upset at him for multiple episodes
