I have whiplash from the speed of this volte face.

The paper that described me and my Women’s Coalition for Immigration movement as “fringe” for daring to say that we as a country, should record the ethnicity and country of origin of our criminal suspects less than five months ago! Or previously, my non-profit @TheCountessIE as akin to Putin for its gender critical policy stance.
If, in fact my views are now suddenly acceptable and even cutting edge, I’d be happy to develop them further on your pages @IrishTimes as someone on the ground who has been calling out and campaigning against these harmful ideologies for six years in an extremely hostile environment which Finn accurately describes as riven with groupthink.

I do not recognise Finn’s optimistic description which seems to conflate the US cultural, political and legislative denouement with our own utter stasis. In fact it’s worse: we are hurtling headlong in the wrong direction.

The HSE is about to send gender confused children to Iceland for affirmative care for Christ Sake! We are indoctrinating children in the classroom into trans as fact via mandatory RSE SPHE curriculum. Girls are being injured because boys are allowed play LGFA. Girls are losing their female toilets in school and women are losing their changing rooms and loos at work. For instance, the ESB allows men to use the ladies showers and changing rooms in their HQ. There are still men in female prison and sent to female shelters.
We still have full gender self-ID, the most radical model in Europe.

We have open-border immigration. We have the most lax rules in the West and the best benefits package. We do not deport deportees beyond the occasional flight more of a media Ops policy than immigration policy. We do no criminal background checks. Anyone who dissents or has concerns is derided as a racist or fascist and even criminalised.

A man who promotes lactation and kink and wants to normalise men putting suckling infants to their male nipples is to give a keynote as the Association of Lactation Consultants of Ireland’s Conference.

I could go on but I will leave you with that delightful image. Woke 1.0 has been catastrophic for Ireland. And it is ongoing at high speed. As the Newspaper of Record you now have the opportunity to at least give equal weight to the counter argument .

I simply do not recognise this new dawn. We are still wholly in the trenches here in Ireland, I am sad to tell you Finn.
