My grandfather doesn’t believe in retirement homes. He says they’re too expensive and the food is bad. Instead, he’d rather check into a luxury hotel near the beach.

When we asked him about the cost, he said, “If I stay at a nursing home, it’s $200 a day and no one visits. If I stay at this hotel, it’s $100 a day. I get room service, a pool, and my grandkids visit me every weekend because they want to go to the beach. Plus, if I die in the lobby, the hotel manager will actually be upset.”

At the nursing home, they just call it ‘Tuesday’.

Roughly $375,000 in jewelry. For one night.

Then the line that actually landed:
“I will never tolerate a woke scold lecture from these people. Just be an ostentatious celebrity and own it.”

That’s the whole point. Wear the diamonds. Fly private. Buy the custom gown. Spend what you earned. Nobody elected Clooney to live like a monk.

What doesn’t work is the lecture while the same people drip in stones most Americans will never see in their lifetime.
Clooney can spend his money however he wants. He does not get to spend it like a king and then scold everyone else about fairness.

Pratt said the quiet part out loud. Own the lifestyle. Drop the sermon.
