Internet access in low-income countries increased 44% from 2020 to 2023. As a result, American political and cultural discourse is now more international than ever.
I explore the ramifications of this digital great replacement in my latest for @theblaze.

#ZBHistory: 1805-US Marines led by 1stLt Presley O'Bannon & mercenaries reached Derna during the first Barbary War.
They marched 600 miles over African desert to the shores of Tripoli. The battle would begin the 27th & end in victory, the 1st for the US on foreign soil.
Most of the terrible immigration policies that we now associate with the Hart Celler act of 1965 were actually introduced in 1990 by George H. W. Bush.
>Significant overal increase in immigration numbers, more than doubling the cap from 270,000 people annually to 675,000
>TPS created
>Family based immigration-visa
>Lottery program to admit immigrants from "low admittance" countries or "countries whose citzienry was underrepresented in the US."
In May 1940, Pope Pius XII tipped off the Allies about Hitlerโs imminent invasion of the West.
The Vatican received intelligence from German opposition figures (via Catholic lawyer Josef Mรผller). The Pope immediately acted.
He contacted Brussels and The Hague directly and informed British, French, and Belgian representatives at the Vatican.
This happened right before the German offensive launched on 10 May 1940, the same day Churchill became Prime Minister.
Pius XII also sent telegrams of moral support to the Queen of the Netherlands, the King of Belgium, and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, condemning the invasions โagainst its will and right.โ

I'm telling you, Democratic party morale is in the absolute toilet right now. Their key roles are filled by true believer radicals who constantly embarrass the center leftists/ boomer types who know how electorally disastrous this type of stuff is.
American politics removed from Trump is just a menagerie of critics who won't meaningfully contribute to the country they pretend to care about.
What else would a crossdessing communist, anti-ICE mexican and Casey Putsch have in common?
The trope that America is successful because of โimmigrant magicโ needs to be heavily qualified.
The reason there are unrivaled opportunities in America that attract talented immigrants is because of liberalism which in turn should be understood as a fragile, contingent, and very lucky historical accident.
Liberalism was only made possible by a specific set of cultural norms and institutions and religious, philosophical, and legal traditions.
Many of the immigrants who came here were from terrible social and cultural milieus and brought very bad ideas and pathological social behavior with them. It was only through intensive assimilation that they were able to take advantage of the opportunities afforded to them.
The US has robust mechanisms to acculturate immigrants into American society and culture but those can be overwhelmed if thereโs too much immigration, by corruption (e.g. people being paid to hang out with their grandparents rather than engaging in work that integrates them more broadly into society), and by institutional dysfunction that fails to pass on the intellectual, cultural, and moral traditions required to maintain liberalism.
The immigrant-mythologizing narrative of white ethnics (Irish, Italians, Jews, etc) was fine for a while but is now past its expiration date and primarily functions as dissembling that doesnโt map onto the current cultural challenges and social chaos that is occurring today in many spheres of American life (including politics). Weโve been made very ignorant by poor education and decades of ideological propaganda and most people just donโt understand why America is the exceptional place that it is. Thereโs an urgent need for reframing that provides clarity and puts whatโs actually at issue into focus.
