"IT WAS THE HONOR OF MY LIFE TO DEFEND YOU"

This is Ibrahim Kharuba, a brave Muslim soldier of the IDF.

On October 7th, Ibrahim was called to the border area with news of the Hamas invasion. He rushed to the Nachal Oz army base, where 21 female IDF soldiers were facing a swarm of over 210 Hamas terrorists with RPGs and machine guns, who attacked their base.

Ibrahim defended them with valour and courage until he eventually fell in combat.

14 of the women there were killed, and 7 were kidnapped by Hamas to Gaza and released later.

Ibrahim's last words to the women of the base were "it was the honor of my life to defend you".

He is survived by his wife, Asmaa, their four children, Rafif, Leen, Muhammad, and Jan, his parents, Hassan and Hamda, and his siblings Noura, Mahmad, Sleiman, Ahmed, Anwar, and Azhar.

I am in awe of this man's courage and honor.

May his memory be a blessing.

החודש שבו הבנקים שבתו ומנכלי הקניונים כולל ויזל, הבעלים של רשת פוקס-ללין ועוד, סגרו את החנויות כמחאה על הצבעת הרוב בקלפי.
"הפורום הכלכלי של ישראל" שם תמונה של הרצי הלוי על כל העתונים בישראל.
בלילה ההוא, לפני כמעט 3 שנים, התקשרתי לחבר טוב ושאלתי אותו:
מה ראיתי עכשיו??
הוא הכיר את "פורום קפה שפירא" (עו"ד זהבה גור ושפי פז בין היתר), אבל לא ראה את הקטע הזה של עו"ד אילן ציאון.
אז הוא הרגיע אותי, כמו שחברים טובים עושים, ואמר לי שאולי זה קצת הגזמה כדי לקרוא לציבור הימני להתעורר.
היום, ברור לי שכל מילה שאמר ציאון בלילה ההוא, היא האמת העצובה.

הראשונים שבאו לעזור לי, כשמכונת הרוע של הפרקליטות עצרה את אבא שלי – יום אחרי ה־11 חודש של עמנואל – היו האחים זיני.

בלי היסוס. בלי שאלות. כמו משפחה.

כי הם באמת המשפחה התאומה של משפחת מורנו.

הקשר בינינו התחיל עוד במרוקו.
שם, הסבים שלנו היו חברים קרובים.

הסבא שלהם – הרב אליהו זצ״ל – ראש ישיבה, איש תורה ויראה.
הסבא שלי – אדם חופשי בדעותיו, “כופר” כפי שנהג לומר בצחוק, אבל עם לב ענק.
מיליונר – ובעיקר נדבן, שתמך בישיבה של הרב אליהו באהבה ובאמונה.

ושם נרקם חיבור של אמת:
בין תורה לעבודה,
בין אמונה לדרך אחרת,
ובין אנשים ישרים.

הרב אליהו היה גם המוהל של אבא שלי, של אחי ושלי.
והאבא של זיני – הרב יוסף – היה ונשאר עבורנו דמות של רוח, חום ואבא נוסף.

לימים, בלי תכנון ובלי תיאום,
מצאנו את עצמנו גרים באותה שכונה בירושלים,
מתפללים באותו בית כנסת,
חיים זה לצד זה.

הרב יוסף חיתן אותי ואת תמי.
ברגע הכי קדוש בחיים שלי – הוא עמד לצידי.

גדלנו יחד.
לא “חברים”. לא “שכנים”.
אחים.

ולא במקרה מסלולי החיים שלנו דומים.

אנחנו חמישה אחים – כולם בחרו בדרך של שירות, הקרבה ולחימה.
אצל זיני – ארבעה אחים, כולם פייטרים:

יצחק – קצין מעוטר בצל״ש בסיירת גולני.
שמואל – לוחם בסיירת גולני.
