20 years ago today, #Estonia joined the EU.
We knew we did not join a ready-made organisation – the #EU is constantly developing and we've gladly helped shape it.
Our accession has been a success story. It now allows us to help others, including #Ukraine, on their way to join.
We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Mitch Wolfe to the team as our new VP of Global Engagement and Governance! Dr. Wolfe, a medical epidemiologist, has guided strategies for national and global public health systems for over 25 years. https://t.co/ouk6Bl7lWu
It is always exciting to see our work being featured around the world - big thanks to the @gatesfoundation for choosing to display our aircraft wastewater testing system as an example of innovation in public health!
We're so excited that our aircraft wastewater collection device is now displayed at the Bill & Melinda Gates Discovery Center in Seattle, WA in an exhibit about sanitation and public health. ✈️ Thanks @DiscoverGates!

This is such a big milestone in Ginkgo's journey to building the components of the global biosecurity infrastructure of the future! Proud of all the work that went into this!
“The world needs effective biosecurity. Building hubs like CUBE-D to connect Ginkgo's network of international biosurveillance nodes transcends regionalism and lays a foundation for the future. After all, biology doesn't respect borders. I am proud of Ginkgo's ability to technically and socially synthesize this global immune system, one node and hub at a time. Everybody's health is connected, and CUBE-D is a foundational step forward for global biosecurity." - @jrkelly
It's great to see increasing interest from the public and media regarding pathogen monitoring using aircraft wastewater, a field in which @concentricbygbw has been working for years.

The recent International #glowacon International Conference "Towards a Global Wastewater Surveillance System for Public Health" was a key milestone in building the future of pathogen surveillance. Here are some of our team's reflections - @nita_madhav@SihamElhamoumi
What would a European pathogen monitoring system based on aircraft wastewater look like? Read about our findings from a pilot project, which we shared at a recent conference in Frankfurt. https://t.co/ir5WXk9yxy
HERA is investing in #Wastewater surveillance:
📌 To create a global sentinel system for #PandemicPreparedness.
📌In collaboration with @EU_ScienceHub, to incorporate at least 20 airports globally into the network.
📌Support 🌍 partners to enhance data exchange.

In an increasingly interconnected world, the need for globally coordinated pathogen monitoring and public health action is more important than ever!
Proud to represent @concentricbygbw at the #glowacon Conference and discuss the creation of a global WBS consortium!
Really cool to see the Traveler-based Pathogen Genomic Program expand to Ginkgo's hometown - the program will provide critical information about the spread of pathogens into the Boston area while accelerating innovation in the field!
Breaking news about the TGS program — welcome BOS!
Logan Airport to test wastewater from arriving planes for viruses in @axios https://t.co/7klzB3yNxT
The ability to detect multiple pathogens in the same samples is critical to building a long-term biosecurity infrastructure for the world - we proved the concept with COVID-19, but the real dividends are coming as we expand the program's lens!
“The dream is that you’re running similar programs across the world in many, many places, so you get much earlier detection” said @matt_f_mcknight about the expansion of the @CDCtravel TGS program — we’re thrilled to support!

It worked to rapidly pick up the BA.2.86 variant here.
The US Traveler Genomic Surveillance (TGS) program at 6 major airports nailed it at Dulles within first few days in August after first identified in Israel and Denmark

I am excited to attend this EU conference on defining the future of Global Wastewater Surveillance. International cooperation will be key for this system to succeed, as is partnership between the public/private sectors - glad that @concentricbygbw is part of this conversation!
The International Conference: Towards a Global Wastewater Surveillance System for Public Health features also our 10th Edition of the Town Hall: Wastewater Witchers and Watchers. Registration opens tomorrow! @EU_ScienceHub@EC_HERA@EU_Commission
Announcing our support for @Northeastern on a CDC-funded consortium to develop new AI-based technologies for epidemic forecasting! The EPISTORM center will prepare local communities and hospitals for future outbreaks. https://t.co/bSPiCdrJ4d
We’re thrilled to partner with @Northeastern, CDC, and a consortium of top research institutions to launch EPISTORM: The Center for Advanced Epidemic Analytics and Predictive Modeling Technology! 🎉
We were thrilled to have @CDCDirector pay a visit to the @CDCtravel Traveler-based Genomic Surveillance (TGS) booth at the Seattle airport last week! We are so proud to support TGS, along with our partners, @Xprescheck. https://t.co/hQwDHzmJI8
