Each year we spend roughly $36,000 AUD on marketing:

To be honest, we still haven’t found a profitable paid marketing approach for Web3 gaming. Cost per acquisition is extremely high compared to our normal player spend.
So far our success has come from social media, partnerships, organic word of mouth and community content.
The Web3 industry is maturing and we will continue to experiment on the paid marketing side until we crack the code!
Since I was a kid, I was hooked on designing games. Instead of playing hide and seek, I’d prefer to invent new games to play with friends.
As I grew older, I dove into depths of game development and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design & Development at UTS.
However, I was quickly met with the harsh reality of the game industry in Australia: crunch culture, lack of opportunities and underpaid entry roles.
Like most of my college graduates, I ventured off into SaSS product development. For the next few years I worked on project management, construction and Fintech applications. However, I never lost my spark for designing games and continually built and launched many projects:
- Smashy Snow
- Sammy Swings
- Sweet Swipe
These were complete commercial failures, amassing less than 1000 downloads.
It wasn’t until years later that a seemingly simple prototype I built (Sunflower Farmers) went viral and sparked my career into game development.
I am extremely grateful for everything the community has given me: they have allowed me to sharpen my skills and follow my dreams.
Big things are coming at Sunflower Land 🤗
