ON THIS DAY in 1936, Charles Edward Daniels, the best father, husband, friend and hone heck of a talented musician, songwriter was born. This would have been his 89th Birthday. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Dad. We miss you terribly, and love you tremendously. - CD Jr.
In 2018, Dad released his last album of new music. For many years, Dad had wanted a chance to work again with his friend and former producer, James Stroud, who was a drummer before he began producing records.
With a little help from Charlie Hayward on Bass and Billy Crain on guitar, they released @BeauWeevils - 'Songs in the Key of E.' Dad and the other Weevils had a great time making the bluesy, swampy Louisiana flavored album, but unfortunately a lot of folks missed it on streaming platforms because Dad's name wasn't directly attached to the artist name, instead each track was labeled "Featuring Charlie Daniels" which didn't help fans discover the new music.
So now almost seven years later, we are doing what should have been done in 2018, we are rebranding the band as "Charlie Daniels and he Beau Weevils." which will make it much easier to discover and suggested by your streaming service. CD copies with the new brand have been available in record stores since April, but it drops today!
The digital and streaming versions are kicked off by a brief little intro of Dad singing an a cappella arrangement of "The Boll Weevil Song."

Start 2025 right. If you are going to quit something, quit:
Complaining
Blaming others
Taking shortcuts
Procrastinating
Being afraid of failure
Doubting yourself
Unhealthy habits
Focusing on the negatives
Living in your comfort zone
Saying I can’t/won’t/don’t
Comparing
Giving up
