@10akhil Also most countries playing at the World Cup are convening on 1st June. So there was no other time. Ignore these idiots though, it’s just baiting people into engagement (me included!).
People lose perspective easily. Especially now engagement baiters can earn good money on here. Ignore them. Marginalise them from the conversation. The next couple of weeks are scary because this club had never done this before. It’s unprecedented. Enjoy it ✊
Arsenal are still not close to the top of the salary bill table in the league. They’ve no divine right to be top of the league or in the Champions League Final. That people expect, no, demand that shows you how far he’s taken this club.
The day Mikel Arteta picked us up, we were 11th in the table and even being in this competition was light years away. It took time but what he’s built this team, this club, back into deserves the ultimate respect.
Also a school night and GCSE week, most parents would have given the kids leeway to attend sunday, many wont not on an exam night.
So many reasons why this move is ridiculous
Absolutely raging re Burnley.
The club alas cannot do anything as its something they cant control.
What a poor decision to do that, for us, for Burnley, for fans who actually. pay to go to games. Literally 1000s and 1000s of people now having to make travel changes which will cost them fortunes and in some cases not changable.
Horrendous decision
Final home game of the season as a Monday night game. Absolute fucking joke.
Final home game of the season should always be the weekend.
And *if* Arsenal win the title, you’ve got a trophy lift at 10pm on a Monday, with people needing to leave to get trains.
Not a good look.
The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust is disappointed by the 8:00pm Monday kick-off for Arsenal vs Burnley.
This timing creates clear difficulties for both sets of supporters, particularly those travelling or relying on public transport, and increases costs and disruption.
As the final home game of the season, it also means the traditional lap of appreciation will not take place until around 10:00pm, making it less accessible for many fans.
We did engage with Arsenal ahead of the most recent broadcast deal, recognising that clubs, including Arsenal, play a role in approving these agreements and asking that it give greater weight to the impact on supporters of games being moved. While we understand the significant financial benefits involved and how they support the club’s growth, we would urge both Arsenal and the Premier League to do more so that scheduling better reflects the needs of match-going supporters.
Absolute joke that the Burnley game has been moved to the Monday at this late notice. So many fans of both clubs out of pocket having booked flights, hotels, travel, etc. So many now won't be able to go because of work issues, childcare, etc.
Final home game of the season, place should be bouncing afterwards, especially if there is something on the Palace game for Arsenal. Supporters roaring the team on at the lap of appreciation, etc, before they head to Selhurst Park.
Yet that will probably be at about 10.30/10.45pm now, probably to a half empty stadium because do many have to get off for trains, etc.
It's just a disgraceful situation. Again, zero thought for fans at all. Broadcasters just don't care.
Fair fucks, City had their game plan spot on. Their press totally stopped Arsenal from playing out. Disappointed with how passive manager and players were in response at the beginning of the second half. Needed a tweak to positioning when playing out but there wasn’t one, just kept playing into the jaws of death until the inevitable happened.
On this day in 2002: Dennis Bergkamp scored THAT iconic goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Newcastle at St James’ Park. 🤯🪄
🔴 Bergkamp (11’)
🔴 Campbell (41’)
@DarrenArsenal1 🙋🏻♂️ I’m one of them. You’d like to think those that missed out this time would be first in line for any other possible events, but I doubt it would work like that!
