Penn State faces a huge test with a short week road trip to Northwestern amidst the pageantry of new Ryan Field. PSU should be focused, motivated.
One problem: while the defense is pretty good despite no pass rush, the offense stinks.

@GBraggsJr23 I was freaking out about it throughout the 2nd half. Philly attacked Devin Bush in the 1st half and it worked; Bush routinely missed rush lanes and was slow to read plays, creating passing lanes. (He had a great stuff on Saquon at the goal line.)
Edwards, OTOH, devoured them.
Penn State played their first Big Ten game under Matt Campbell on Saturday. It didn't go great. And with the way things are shaping up for the program, it looks like Campbell's tenure could be over just as it began.

Incredible series from TJ Edwards there. Whiffs on Saquon on 1st down, stuffs Saquon on 2nd down, and nearly baits Hurts into a pick on 3rd down with a PBU.
I suspect they'll go back after Devin Bush next time!
Negatives: we don't have a LT (Benedet has been particularly brutal), Devin Bush has one great play and about six complete misses, and Roush remains unplayable
Positives: Coach Keenum getting it done, Luther balling out, Loveland in the gameplan, and right side of OL shining.
More negatives: Jaylon and Muhammad abandoning Wicks. Yikes! Refs not calling offisde on Ojomo on 3rd and six.
More positives: Taylor and Blackwell on that punt! Mitchell not turning that 4th down goal line pass into a 99-yard pick-six
@GBraggsJr23 Seems relevant in light of your recent post, @danwiederer
A 40-year-old Packers fan has never lived in the football wilderness. Uncharted territory for them...maybe. They could still go 13-4, especially when Parsons returns to terrorizing opposing QBs.
@GBraggsJr23 It's almost like a generation of fans of a franchise with 5 losing seasons in the last 34 years might be fairweather fans and not know it yet.
Try going 4-28 against your rival (like the Bears did vs GB from late-2010 through mid-2025) and see if you still show up at all.
@CeeVee3YT He's an extreme luxury pick as TE3 for a team playing scrubs for meaningful reps at DT. He's supposed to be smart and an athletic mismatch, albeit with short arms.
Thus far, Roush doesn't know what he's doing and he doesn't catch the ball. And the DTs are feckless. Woof.
@CeeVee3YT Not cutting him; that's insane.
However, he was dreadful today. As bad as Bradbury. The FG block is entirely on Roush not coming out of his stance. The drops were bad. But the worst? Not knowing the play on the 15-yard dig to Loveland. Late out of the huddle, then didn't get set
Anybody who thinks I'm being unfair to Sam Roush: go back and watch the blocked field goal. He's the left edge protector. He does not move. At all.
He cannot play right now. I expect the Bears to sign a street free agent TE this week. You can't afford to lose games.
Carson Wentz singlehandedly keeping the Bears in this one.
Ryan Poles's offseason not exactly shining today. C Garrett Bradbury: awful. TE Sam Roush turned a scoring drive into a punt by not knowing the play; also whooped on some blocks. LB Devin Bush dropped a gimme pick. Oof.
@GBraggsJr23@NFLOfficiating Inexplicable F- officiating right there. It wasn't close to on-time. It was the ball carrier. He had two feet out of bounds, then some time passed, then he got tackled at the knees.
I do not understand. Brutal from the zebras.
Despite the ugly play thus far from the Bears offense, there is a shining star: Colston Loveland's blocking. Loveland erased Caleb Banks -- a 6-6, 327 lbs. 1st rounder -- on Monangai's first big run. Tremendous effort from Loveland.
I expected a big drop-off from Drew Dalman to Bradbury. But this? Dalman committed four penalties in all of 2025 and absolutely led the OL. Bradbury looks completely washed and has mixed in knowledge and quickness penalties, a devastating combo.
As a reminder to Bears fans who are curious about why Garrett Bradbury stinks, remember that two franchises (MIN and NE) had the chance to pair the veteran center with their young QBs to grow together...and both sent him out of town instead.
Uniquely bad half from a subpar C.
@GBraggsJr23 The part about Caleb is accurate.
The part about the defense is not. The defense gave up 7 yards on 2 runs -- totally fine -- then the 3rd down 6-man blitz got absolutely stonewalled. Wentz just missed a wide open Addison from a clean pocket.
Gotta start scoring ASAP!
