I keep getting direct messages and personal messages from people inquiring as to what may have happened. I know exactly what happened. Husbands lost wives, wives lost husbands, children lost parents, parents lost children, brothers lost sisters, sisters lost brothers and on and on. Truly heartbreaking. We’re currently in a place where speculation and arm-chair quarterbacking does no service to anyone and in my opinion is disrespectful to those who lost loved ones. WestJet grounds 16 planes after a hailstorm Monday evening in Calgary, affecting 10% of its fleet.

84 flights were canceled on Wednesday, 106 on Tuesday, and 58 on Monday. Parts of Calgary Airport's terminal remain closed. Air Canada operations are back to normal.

Sixteen WestJet planes — 10 per cent of its entire fleet — has been grounded and require “substantial repairs and inspections before returning to service,” WestJet wrote in a Wednesday statement.

Cleanup is underway at the Calgary International Airport after the devastating storm that saw ceiling tiles rain down inside the domestic terminal.
