Given the state of things in the US, I want to make it clear that I am radically pro-transgender. 🏳️⚧️
Pride wouldn't exist without the trans community, and there is no line at which the people seeking to eradicate transness from public life will stop at trans people alone.
couldn’t have put it myself! trans people are under attack and minimizing their struggle for systemic safety threatens lives. you don’t have to be queer to care, just a good human
pride was a riot btw we will not ask nicely
@Humanitydh Thankfully it's still fun, though, for the most part. Hard to explain but when things go right as a tank it's a high better than I've ever felt as a dps player. The skill expression is totally different and imho much more directly rewarding.
@Humanitydh I've been learning to tank recently after years and years and years as a dps main and it feels really stressful. I think the worst part is just the players, though. So little room for error with WoW players.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc Yes, this is the charge of all human Paladins. If that's problematic then every Paladin is a zealot, which would be ridiculous.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc Denying Orgrim from becoming a martyr is an objectively good thing which would have resulted, probably, in the end of the Orcs rather than their internment in camps.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc - necessary, just like any of our hero characters who have done similarly heinous things. Anduin uses Shadow magic on one of his own soldiers in MoP.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc Jaina purged an entire city of a race of elves & nearly wiped Orgrimmar off the map. This is Warcraft where we recognize supposedly 'good people' sometimes do bad things, and when they're meant to learn from it it haunts them. Of course he defends himself. He believes it was -
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc The full context of what happens in Tides of Darkness makes absolutely clear he is not having zealotous epiphany lol.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc -- the Dark Portal make it clear he doesn't actually believe in the conclusion he came to about 'striking the Orcs down with impunity' because he doesn't do that! The very next sequence in Tides of Darkness after he says that is him choosing mercy over more bloodshed.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc - material before making ill-informed claims about legacy characters w/ half a dozen pieces of media to their name.
@WQuirrel70301@xin_xvi@that_kind_oforc - does he advocate for it. He goes 'the Orcs are not of the Light and do not belong on this world' and then captures Orgrim & spends the rest of that book and Beyond the Dark Portal refuting the idea that all Orcs are evil to Alleria. I highly encourage you to engage w the -
