I have been trying to get a birth certificate with my new name for more than six months -- since July. I had to fill out a five page application, get it notarized, request an entirely new court order, and coordinate between the vital statistics people and my state's legal system

I go to their website and attempt to order a short form. under the "identity verification" section, where they require a full name and SSN, they don't accept my current legal name. only my deadname.
